Yes, KCOBA Online supports both Interswitch and Verve Cards through our secure online payment facility.
[2] Do you support ANY Visa Card?
No, Your Visa Card must be a Card that supports Verified by Visa and should be enrolled for Verified by Visa with an IPIN or VBV PIN
Verified by VISA (VBV) is a password protected identity checking service developed by VISA to significantly reduce the risk of fraud in online transactions. It protects customer identity and thereby improves the security of Internet payments. It also reduces disputed transactions.
[4] How to Register your Visa card for Verified by Visa
The regulations from VISA, all Visa card customers need to have an IPIN activated on their card to be able to use on www.kcoba.org.ng.
This site is protected with Verified By Visa(VbV) – Visa Password-Protected Identity Checking Service and requires that the card is enrolled to participate in the VbV program. If your Visa Card issued by Nigerian Banks is not enrolled, kindly follow the steps outlined below:
Follow the steps below to enroll your card for VBV enabled transactions.
Locate a nearest VISA/VPAY enabled ATM machine
Insert your card and punch in your ATM PIN
Select the PIN change option
Select Internet PIN(i-PIN) change option
Insert any four – six digits of your choice as your IPIN
Re-enter the digits entered in step5
If you have done the above correctly, a message is displayed that your PIN was changed successfully. This means your card is now enrolled in the VbV program and you have an internet PIN (i-PIN) which can be used for any internet related transactions
Note that IPIN and VBV code are the same
Login to www.kcoba.org.ng and continue with the transaction. The IPIN is to be entered on the Verified by VISA page.
[5] VISA CARD Terminologies
Full Card Number : It is the 16 digit card number imprinted on the front of the card.
Expiry date: It is the month and year of expiry of the card.
Name of Card Holder : This is the full name of the card holder printed on the card.
CVV It is a 3 digit number printed on the back of the card near to the card holder’s signature strip.
VBV PIN or IPIN : These two are the same codes by different names. VBV or VByV stands for Verified By VISA and IPIN for Internet PIN.
[6] Whats is a MasterCard Verve Card?
The MasterCard Verve card is a co-branded Chip and PIN card powered by InterSwitch and MasterCard Worldwide for local and international use. The MasterCard Verve card allows cardholders perform financial transactions at ATMs, POS and Web both domestically as well as internationally. Cardholders will have the ability to use a single card for domestic and international transacting. The MasterCard Verve co-branded debit card is fully Nigerian and fully international. Cardholders will be able to enjoy wider acceptance throughout Nigeria and around the world. In Nigeria, the MasterCard Verve card will be accepted locally across all ATMs, POS, Web, Mobile, Kiosk, PC POS, Voice and Bank Branch connected to the InterSwitch network. It also provides access to Verve Loyalty and Value-Added Services (VAS) such as bill payments, airtime top up, bank transfers etc across domestically.
Internationally, the card will be accepted on MasterCard’s network across the globe.
